BURNED FINGERS SERIES OF 1,000
Burned Fingers is a long-term project completed between 1997 and 2002, composed of 1,000 individual 3.5 x 4-inch panels that together form a single mosaic-like composition. Created over five and a half years, the series stands as an extended self-portrait and daily practice—an effort to confront heartbreak, depression, and the larger question of how to live meaningfully beyond what society prescribes. Each piece became a small act of focus and reflection, a way to process emotion through steady creation.
Through its repetition and duration, Burned Fingers records the discipline of looking inward and the search for clarity over time. The accumulation of images forms a visual chronicle of thought and feeling—an evolving dialogue between self, time, and the pressures of expectation. The work transforms persistence itself into a language of questioning and quiet transformation.
